“So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary
life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it
before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you
can do for him.” -- Romans 12:1
UPDATE SAPUMC TO HOST PROJECT HOME IN SEPTEMBER
Project Home was without a home for one of their three shelters in September. Because of this
need we are going to do a back to back hosting in St. Anthony Park. This time SAPUMC will be the host
church. Together with our partners St. Matthew's Episcopal, St. Anthony Park Lutheran, Church of Saint Cecilia,
St. Anthony Park United Church of Christ and Church of Corpus Christi we will be providing volunteers
throughout the month of September. Contact Jane Keeley or the church office to sign up for a day
and time to serve.
Volunteer training with Sara Leigl will be on Sunday, August 30th at 11:15am in
the Parlor and Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00pm in the Library.
PROJECT HOME Project Home provides shelter for homeless
children and their parents when the Ramsey County Shelter is full. St. Matthew's
Episcopal Church in St. Anthony Park is the host site for Project Home during the month
of August. Volunteers are needed for August 23-26. Two shifts are available -
5 to 8 p.m.; or 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. During the evening shift volunteers assist parents
in providing activities for children or youth and put out a light snack. Overnight
volunteers visit with guests before 9:00 p.m. lights out, have their own room, and
be sure everyone is ready to go at 7:00 a.m. Contact Chris Mikesell or the
church office to sign up for a day and time to serve.
Project Home provides the following services:
- Transportation to and from the shelter site.
- Beds, bedding and laundry service.
- Basic hygiene supplies and other items such as clothing, diapers and feminine products.
- Volunteer Training.
- On-call Project Home staff who are accessible by phone throughout the evening and
