Sunday School Open House
Please plan to join our children in showing off their rooms, their Sunday School creations, and some treats on May 11th. This is the last day of Sunday School and the children would enjoy everyone visiting their space! The Open House will begin following the church service. Hope to see you then!

Spring Potluck at the Park
Come celebrate spring in the park! Please mark your calendars for a casual potluck in Langford Park on Sunday, May 18th after worship. Please bring your own tableware and one dish of food to share. Beverages will be provided. In case of rain, we will meet in Fellowship Hall. Praise God that spring has come!!!!

News and Information

Service Opportunity
Is there someone in our church family who has not yet found their service opportunity? The Church Growth Committee is looking for another set of two people to be part of the Fellowship Hour team. This involves a gift of time before church and after the fellowship hour once every 6 to 8 weeks. Anyone volunteering will receive help in “learning the ropes” from someone who has done this in the past.

The committee is very thankful to those who have contributed bars, cookies, etc., which helps with the expense and effort of those who are serving. There is always a sign-up sheet in the back of the sanctuary for cookie contribution sign-up. Please let Marion Hartwick, or any member of the Church Growth Committee, know if Fellowship Hour Host is a service you are able to provide. Thank you.

Prayer Partner Missionary
Joua Vang is in ministry with women and children serving in Laos. See the Lamplighter for more information, or check her Missionary Biography at www.gbgm-umc.org, or on church office door.

Kitchen Kit Collection Underway
Support women and children escaping abuse to start a new, violence-free life. We are collecting items from May 4 through May 18, and putting them at the back of Fellowship Hall. For a list of items to collect, see your Lamplighter, or call the church office.

Sunday School Volunteer Recruitment
The Sunday School is recruiting volunteers for the 2008/2009 Sunday School Year. Please take a moment to reflect on how you are best able to help out with our children. Volunteer opportunities include Classroom Shepherd, Teacher (a shared position), Special Events and Nursery Volunteer. If you have any questions contact any of the current Sunday School teachers or Heidi Jensen.

SAPUMC Nursery
The SAPUMC nursery is booming with several energetic toddlers each week! Thank you to all who have helped out as attendants. Nursery care ends May 18th. If you would be able to be the attendant or the monitor in September when nursery care resumes, please call Katharine Tondra.
